BGCT Adding Two Schools to Transportation Program

August 14, 2013

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is expanding its transportation program this fall, adding two Troy schools to its list of destinations in an effort to reach more local youth and assist families with after-school activities.

Troy High School and Smith Middle School will be included in the mix this year, with one scheduled pick-up at each school. The Club van will continue to make two stops at Larson Middle School, and Hill and Costello Elementary Schools as it has in previous years.

Club management believes that increasing the scope of its transportation program will allow more young people, particularly teens, to enjoy the Club’s offerings while at the same time easing a logistical burden facing parents who otherwise have no means of getting their kids to the Club after school.

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is a non-profit youth development organization that provides educational and recreational activities, in addition to mentoring programs, to more than 1,200 children, ages 6 to 18, in the tri-county area. With an annual membership which costs just $60 per year, members can enjoy the Club’s versatile 18,000 square foot facility and participate in programming which includes: character and leadership development; education and career development; sports, fitness and recreation; health and life skills; and the arts.

Transportation fees for Club members are $15 per week, and space is limited. For more information call 248-689-1687 or visit www.bgctroy.org.
