BGCT Partnering with Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids Program

December 11, 2013

For the second consecutive year, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy has been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. This program, which will give over $1.5 million in free shoes to children in need this holiday season, was launched in 2008 and today reaches 750 charitable organizations across all 50 U.S. states, Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American countries.

A group of Boys & Girls Club of Troy members will participate in a shoe-shopping trip at a local Payless ShoeSource store. The children will have an opportunity to shop for and select their own pair of free new shoes.

By assisting families who struggle to obtain basic daily essentials, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy and the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program hope to alleviate stress for parents and bring joy to their children.

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is a non-profit youth development organization that provides educational and recreational activities, in addition to mentoring programs, to more than 1,200 children, ages 6 to 18, in the tri-county area. For over 35 years, the Club has given youth a platform which allows them to develop into self-reliant, responsible, contributing members of the community.
