Crouching Tigers is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Troy to offer free classes this fall to Club members aged 6-12. Classes will be on Mondays at BGCT starting October 12.
A children's wellness program that builds a foundation for healthy futures, Crouching Tigers has a curriculum which combines yoga, martial arts, and meditation. The program is specifically designed to build self confidence, teach respect and develop life skills.
Club members will work in small groups with Crouching Tigers instructors and learn from stories and activities involving various Crouching Tigers mascots. Through the use of these stories and characters, students learn:
- Life skills, such as respect and integrity
- Social problem solving
- Safety lessons, such as fire safety and stranger danger
- Yoga poses
- Facts about various countries
- Japanese terminology
Classes are 45 minutes long and will begin at 3:30, 4:15 and 5:00 every Monday afternoon from October 12-November 30. Parents and members who are interested can sign up at the Club's front desk. For more information on Crouching Tigers, visit www.crouchingtigers.com.
