PNC Bank Honored by Boys & Girls Clubs Michigan/Ohio Area Council

April 28, 2016

Representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of Troy accepted the Outstanding Community Service Award on behalf of PNC Bank at the 2016 Michigan/Ohio Area Council Meeting & Youth of the Year Conference earlier this month at the Troy Marriott. Award winners in several categories were selected from nominations by Boys & Girls Clubs from both neighboring states.

PNC Bank was nominated for the honor by the Boys & Girls Club of Troy in recognition of the company’s high level of support for the Club’s youth development programs. PNC Bank has been either the title or major sponsor of the Club’s annual Taste of Troy fundraiser for the last 10 years. This represents a significant investment in the Club as major sponsor levels are $10,000 and title sponsorships are $20,000.

PNC Bank has also participated in the Boys & Girls Club of Troy’s annual golf outings and has contributed to the education of Club teens by facilitating the Money Matters financial literacy program. A representative of PNC Bank has long served on the Club's Board of Directors as well, including current Board member Jo Obasuyi.

"Simply put, if it wasn’t for faithful supporters like PNC Bank, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy would struggle to exist,” said Boys & Girls Club of Troy CEO Jeff Evans. “We would like to sincerely thank PNC for contributing important funds that we need to make a difference in the lives of our members. Not only does PNC support us financially, but it also works with our youth to teach them responsible fiscal practices that will benefit them throughout their lives."
