BGCT Offering R.A.D. Systems Program in May

May 1, 2015

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is pleased to offer a special opportunity for members to participate in a free Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Systems program this May as an extension of the Club’s Passport to Manhood and SMART Girls programs.

The R.A.D. Systems is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.

Wayne State University P.D. Investigator Eleshia Evans will present two courses, one for females and one for males (Club members and a parent/guardian if desired) aged 11-18, with a maximum of 20 individuals per session. The female course is May 18-21 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. while the male course will be held May 26-28 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Late pickup fees (until 7:30 p.m.) will not be charged to members participating in this program. A full commitment for the duration of the program is required.

The R.A.D. Systems is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense tactics. The system of realistic defense will provide a young person with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance.
