Emi McGonegal Selected as the Boys & Girls Club of Troy Youth of the Year

Vision To Learn visits the Boys & Girls Club of Troy to give out free eye exams and glasses

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy had a special visit from Vision To learn; an organization that provides children with free eye exams and free glasses by bringing its mobile eye clinics to schools and youth community organizations. It has helped screen close to 450,000 children, examined more than 85,000 and provided glasses to nearly 70,000—all free of charge. 


Katelyn Claxton Named Boys & Girls Club of Troy Youth of the Year

Troy Athens High School freshman Katelyn Claxton was selected as the 2017 Boys & Girls Club of Troy Youth of the Year. Katelyn will now compete against members of other Boys & Girls Clubs in the state for the Michigan Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship courtesy of program sponsors which include Disney, University of Phoenix, Toyota, and Taco
Bell.

25th Annual Taste of Troy is a Huge Success.

The 25th Annual Taste of Troy fundraiser was definitely a successful 25th Anniversary TasteFest based on the mouth-watering food prepared by Troy’s finest restaurants and food establishments and their decorative display booths. The annual food-tasting event offered samplings from 30 area restaurants with a Tailgate TasteFest theme this year, along with emcee and popular WDIV Channel 4 Meteorologist Andrew Humphrey, Detroit Lions #20 Billy Sims, plus fabulous live and silent auction items.

PNC Bank Honored by Boys & Girls Clubs Michigan/Ohio Area Council

Representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of Troy accepted the Outstanding Community Service Award on behalf of PNC Bank at the 2016 Michigan/Ohio Area Council Meeting & Youth of the Year Conference earlier this month at the Troy Marriott. Award winners in several categories were selected from nominations by Boys & Girls Clubs from both neighboring states. PNC Bank was nominated for the honor by the Boys & Girls Club of Troy in recognition of the company’s high level of support for the Club’s youth development programs.
