Boys & Girls Club of Troy to host 34th Annual Golf Outing “It’s Fore the Kids” at Forest Lake Country Club

TROY, MI – The Boys and Girls Club of Troy will hold its 34th Annual Golf Outing and major fundraiser at Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills on Monday, August 16, 2010.

“This is one of the premier summer outings of the season and we encourage golfers to sign-up early,” said Dave Verbeke, chairman of the 2010 outing. “We have a few sponsorship opportunities available and promise everyone a great time – all for a good cause.”

“We have planned an incredible day of golf, networking and fun for all attending. For the non-golfers we have separate dinner tickets available so everyone can join in – after all ‘It’s Fore the Kids’,” said Steve Toth, Executive Director. “Cost per golfer is $280 with special golf packages including a master package at $1,800 for five golfers and a hole sponsorship.”

Thanks to the efforts of committee member Greg Landry, golfers have an opportunity to add a retired Detroit Lions football player to their team. On a first request basis, available players include Greg Landry, quarterback: 1968-1981, Eric Hipple, quarterback: 1980-1989; Reggie Holmes, linebacker; Horace King, running back and Levi Johnson, cornerback.

The outing is slated start at 11:00 a.m. with time on the putting green or driving range and a buffet lunch.  A 1:00 p.m. shotgun start for the scramble golf outing has been established, followed by a 6:00 p.m. cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and awards banquet.

A host of prizes will be awarded including $10,000 hole-in-one contest, as well as great prizes for the longest putt, closest to the pin, straightest drive, Men’s and Women’s longest drive. Registrations are available by contacting the Boys & Girls Club of Troy at 248-689-1687 or www.bgctroy.org.
