Final Teen Late Night of 2015-16 on June 10

Join us for the final Late Night event of the 2015-16 school year! On June 10 from 7-11 p.m. members and guests aged 12-18 are welcome to hang out at the Club and enjoy music, video games, open gym, table games, or just a place to relax and enjoy the company of friends.
 
Admission is free to all Late Night events. Pizza, pop and snacks are available for purchase.

Medallion Club Events in June

Members in the Platinum and Gold levels for the month of May will enjoy a Medallion Club pizza party on Friday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. Members in the Platinum level will also have an opportunity to attend a field trip to Troy Family Aquatic Center on Tuesday, June 7 at 4:30 p.m. Of course, members in all four Medallion Club levels can get a free ice cream at the Snack Shack! May's Medallion Club will be announced on Wednesday, June 1.

Jasen Magic Coming to Boys & Girls Club of Troy on April 9

Members who join us at the Club on Thursday, April 9 are in for a treat as magician and comedian Jasen Magic will give a free performance at 1:00 p.m. Jasen is a supporter of many local causes including the Boys & Girls Club, and he will be bringing his unique brand of entertainment to BGCT during Spring Break! Ugly Sweater Day on Dec. 22

It's become an annual tradition - Ugly Holiday Sweater Day will be Monday, Dec. 22. Members and staff are encouraged to dig into the back of their closets (or their parents' closets) and find those unsightly garments to help us spread some holiday cheer. We'll have a contest to find out who has the ugliest sweater too!

Club Open Until 5 p.m. on Halloween

School is closed which means the Club is OPEN on Halloween starting at 7 a.m. However, the Club will close at 5 p.m. to make sure everyone is home in time for trick-or-treating. Be safe and have fun!

Kids Workshop on Oct. 28

Students from Oakland University will be conducting a Home Depot kids workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 28 in the art room for Starters, Cadets and Juniors starting at 5:00 p.m. Members will have a choice of building airplanes or heart baskets. See Nicole or sign up at the front desk to participate.

Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 18

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 5-8 p.m. for the Boys & Girls Club of Troy Halloween Party. Admission is free to this event which is open to Club members and guests.
 
Activities will include a costume contest, carnival games, music and dancing, food and drinks, a cookie decorating station and much more. Club members will receive 10 free tickets upon entry, which can be used for food or games. For $2.00 members and guests can purchase 10 additional tickets.
 
We are grateful to Kohl's for supporting this event, as the company made a generous donation and had volunteers to lend a hand and help make this a wonderful evening!

Annual Summer Carnival on August 21

Members and their families are welcome to attend the Boys & Girls Club of Troy Summer Carnival on Thursday, August 21 from 5-8 p.m.
 
Among the attractions at the Club will be carnival games, a climbing wall, inflatables, a petting zoo, and a dunk tank. We will have food, drinks, prizes and much more. Members will receive a small amount of free game tickets, and more will be available for purchase.
The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is proud to once again welcome Kohl's as the sponsor for this event on the penultimate day of the 2014 Summer Program. Many volunteers from Kohl's stores will be at the carnival to lend a hand and help make this a wonderful evening!

Talent Show on August 15

Singing, dancing, juggling, comedy... who knows what abilities our members will put on display at the annual BGCT Talent Show? Members have been practicing and rehearsing all summer with Club staff in preparation for the show.
 
Club families are encouraged to join in on Friday, August 15 at 3:00 p.m. for what should be a very fun and entertaining event.

Club Open on Spring Break

Looking for a fun, warm, exotic destination for Spring Break? Well, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy may not be very exotic, but it will definitely be fun – and of course we’ll turn the heat on to battle the chilly winter weather!
 
The Club will be open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. (extended hours apply) for Spring Break on Friday, April 1 and during the week of April 4-8. Club staff will have a full schedule of activities planned for our members all week long, so be sure to drop by and see us.
 
We will also open early to accommodate the half-day of school on Thursday, March 31.

Celebrate BGC Week March 22-27

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is planning an exciting schedule of events to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week beginning with an open house on Sunday, March 22 from 2-5 p.m. which is open to the public and includes new member orientations and registration for the 2015 summer program.
 
Club members will be split into staff-led teams to engage in unique games and contests which will run Monday through Friday. Each day will incorporate a different dress-up theme as well as a "Buddy Day” for a particular age group during which members can bring a guest to the Club free of charge. Boys & Girls Club of Troy t-shirts will be on sale for $2.00 each all week long as well.
 
The signup process for BGC Week is ongoing at the front desk. Any guests who plan to use the Club’s van transportation for a Buddy Day must have a completed and signed permission slip either turned in to Club staff or to the driver in order to join Club members who utilize the Club’s transportation service from school.
 
MONDAY – BLUE DAY (wear blue to the Club) and Buddy Day for STARTERS (ages 6-7)
 
TUESDAY – HAT DAY/CRAZY SOCKS DAY and Buddy Day for CADETS (ages 8-9)
 
WEDNESDAY – TEAM DAY (wear something representing your BGC team) and Buddy Day for JUNIORS (ages 10-12)
 
THURSDAY – HAPPY HIPPY DAY (tie dye or fashion from the 1960s) and Buddy Day for TEENS (ages 13+)
 
FRIDAY – BGC DAY (sport a BGCT t-shirt)

National Boys & Girls Club Week is an initiative spread among the over 4,000 Clubs nationwide to open their doors to communities and celebrate the organization’s mission to support and inspire young people.

Boys & Girls Club of Troy Hosting Free Open House

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy will be hosting a free Open House to the general public on Sunday, March 23, from 2-5 p.m. at its location on 3670 John R Road in Troy.
 
Guests are welcome to tour the 18,000 square foot facility which includes a games room, gymnasium, art room, learning resource center and teen room. Hourly orientation sessions will be available beginning at 2:15 p.m. for those guests considering membership to the Boys & Girls Club of Troy, and those who are already members will have an opportunity to take care of administrative responsibilities including registration for the 2014 BGCT Summer Program.
 
The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is a non-profit youth development organization that provides educational and recreational activities, in addition to mentoring programs, to more than 1,200 children, ages 6 to 18, in the tri-county area. For over 35 years, the Club has given youth a platform which allows them to develop into self-reliant, responsible, contributing members of the community.

Summer Program Registration Opens March 3

The Boys & Girls Club of Troy Summer Program is a fun, safe, and affordable experience for kids ages 6-18. The program runs for 10 weeks starting June 16 from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (extended hours apply).
 
Online registration for the Summer Program will launch Monday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. and provide members with a discounted rate of $300 per child as a reward for taking advantage of the early registration opportunity. Links to the online registration tools will be available at www.bgctroy.org as well as on the Club's Facebook page.
 
The traditional in-person registration will be available at the Club after April 27 at a rate of $350 per child.
 
The Boys & Girls Club of Troy's 18,000 square foot facility includes a gymnasium, games room, technology/learning center, art/music room, teen center and more. Members also have access to large outdoor recreation and sports areas due to the Club's proximity to Barnard Elementary School as well as Raintree Park. A full day of activities and programs provides a variety of options, including but not limited to: arts & crafts, music & drama, sports skill building, recreational games & leagues, computer skills & games, clubs, movies, and outdoor games.

Club Hours During Mid-Winter Break

As the Troy School District schedules two days off from school for the upcoming mid-winter break, please make note of the hours of operation for the Boys & Girls Club of Troy during that time period:
 
Monday, February 17 – Open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.*
 
Tuesday, February 18 – Open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.*
 
Wednesday, February 19 – Normal after-school operating hours resume
 
 
*Extended hours apply (7-10 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)

Thanksgiving Lunch on Nov. 27

Boys & Girls Club of Troy members and parents are welcome to partake in a special Thanksgiving lunch at the Club on Wednesday, Nov. 27. With no school in Troy the day prior to Thanksgiving, the Club will be open for a full day.
 
For just $8.00 per person, the Thanksgiving-style meal includes Honeybaked turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, applesauce, a roll, mixed vegetables, apple juice and pumpkin pie.
 
We will also be celebrating Cultural Day at the Club on Nov. 27. Members are encouraged to wear something related to their culture on that day.
