SMART Girls, a program which enhances girls’ physical and emotional health, combines informational and experiential learning activities to help girls, ages eight to 17, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to practice healthy lifestyle choices.

The curriculum of SMART Girls provides the Club with a unique opportunity to promote positive values and behavior, while establishing positive peer pressure among young girls transitioning into adolescence. Topics which may be explored include: eating and exercise habits, coping with cultural influences regarding physical appearance and body image, or how the temptations to smoke, drink or experiment with drugs or early sexual activity can affect the quality of their lives.

This program helps drive positive outcomes for young girls by allowing them to explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good healthcare and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
